Heck of a day for John and his Michigan guys. They wanted to catch different fish today and not necessarily eating fish as we had caught a lot of good eating fish yesterday so we started wahoo tolling but the sargassum was too prevalent and we could not keep the baits clean. Stopping up in the pickles reef area we bounced the bottom, caught 3 nice mutton snapper and a large black grouper to get things started.
I had brought some crabs along so we went to a spot that can hold permit and they were there and they were hungry We caught two, crossing off that species from John's bucket list. I decided to stay in the area and put out our ballyhoo for a sail and it wasn't long till we had him on.
The guys loved the day and so did Dave and I. Looking forward to seeing them again next year.
