10/26/2022 1 Comment Mitch's First SailSailfish season has started. Dave tells me they were anchored down catching snapper while the sails were coming into the shallow water and pushing baits (showering) all around them. He decided he had to get off the anchor to see if they couldn't catch one and they did!
It looked like an absolutely gorgeous day out there and Dave said it doesn't get much pretter. This was Mitch's first sailfish but there will be many more for him this winter season.

10/25/2022 0 Comments Another Return CustomerDon has fished with us on a number of occasions but although I don't remember fishing with Brittany before but I'm sure she will be back to fish with us again also. Today Dave put them on some nice yellowtail snapper and mixed in a few good eating cero mackeral to go with them. Don showed up yesterday on a whim and wanted to fish, we just happened to have today open. Dave is fishing tomorrow and this week looks like perfect fishing weather.
10/25/2022 0 Comments Mike and PaulMike and Paul returned to fish with again, looking to catch some good eating fish and maybe catch a sailfish. The eating fish came fairly easy but although Dave put in quite a bit of time looking for that sail it didn't happen for them on Sunday.
10/23/2022 0 Comments Joe, Rich, Craig and JonDave stayed on the reef yesterday and put together a nice catch of kingfish, yellowtail snapper, ceros and a mutton. They spent a little time looking for a sailfish but didn't see one, the sailfishing will get better and better as we get into late fall and winter.
10/21/2022 0 Comments Dave Finds A BoatAlmost all of the refugee boats found are styrofoam or wood, the one Dave found the other day was metal, very unusual but definitely a safer way to try a crossing. No one onboard so we assume the coast guard rescued the folks the passengers.
Dave found close to ten mahi, some yellowtail snapper and a bunch of false albacores for Patrick and his son on a short but beautiful day. 10/16/2022 0 Comments Even BetterCaptain Dave really kept Bob. Glen and Jim busy yesterday with kingfish, yellowtail snappers and various species of jacks. More guys from New Jersey that we will add to our list of frequent charter folks. See you soon guys
10/16/2022 0 Comments Mixed BagMixed bag on Thursday with Don and his family members on board. One decent mahi and a few smaller ones that Dave added on top of the yellowtails they caught earlier. Once again the tunas did not bite well but there were lots of small bonitos at the hump to keep the action going.
10/12/2022 0 Comments WahooI love catching a wahoo as the first fish of the day, it just seems like the day goes well after catching that special fish in the morning. As you can see it was early morning light with the sun just starting coming over the horizon, another beautiful sunrise.
Ray was our angler, he had met Dave yesterday on the dock and called me last evening to book the day with his family. The tunas did not bite so Dave ended back on the reef catching snapper and looking for a sail, no luck with the sail but plenty of tails for the pantry and the wahoo! 10/11/2022 0 Comments Overseas VistorsEric had contacted me back in August looking to book a half day on the KK. Today was his and his lady's day on the water and as you can see the big snapper were biting. They caught close to their limit and when they got back took their catch up to Wahoo's restaurant for a great fresh fish lunch.
10/10/2022 0 Comments Short Day With The BoysBrannon brought the boys down from Nashville to go fishing and it was pretty obvious they had spent time on the water before. Good anglers that put the hurt on the big yellowtail snappers on their half day at the reef, they had lots of fresh fish meals for the rest of their stay here in the keys and good memories to take back home.
10/8/2022 0 Comments Now The Mahi Are HereDave had another great day today as we had Jason and his company personel down for a day on the water. There were three boats and I although I didn't hear what the other boats did, they would have been hard pressed to have a better day then captain Dave.
Dave said he caught the mahi in relatively shallow water inside the hump, finding a few pieces of debris that produced all these fish and although the hump wasn't great for Dave, he returned to the reef and caught over a dozen nice yellowtail snapper at a couple different spots Shout out to Mitch (our young mate from Delaware) who is getting that cast net throwing down. Our customers love him and he is improving his skills every day he fishes. 10/3/2022 0 Comments After IanWe dodged a bullet with Ian although a lot of our friends and clients live on the west coast of Florida and our prayers go out to those effected.
On Sunday Dave took Patrick, Lindsey, Will and the birthday boy JP out to catch some fish. Dave said the hump was not happening for tuna so the came back to the reef and caught snapper instead. A good time was had by all and they will see us again soon. |
