10/5/2017 0 Comments John WaynersSome people just have to go fishing no matter how bad the wave and wind conditions are, this was one of those groups (thus the nickname).
When we left the dock it was probably blowing 20 knots or so but I could see this dark cloud front coming at us and half way to the reef the wind jumped up to 30+ and the rain was blowing sideways. We got anchored and started catching some nice yellowtails but at the beginning we were losing quite a few to the cudas. We had only fished for about an hour and 2 of the four guys were down already so when the next black cloud hit us with it's 30+ wind the two that were still fishing decided they had see enough big waves and called it a day. Putting the boat back in my slip with that wind was interesting to say the least but she went in without bouncing off anything or any other boat. The guys were happy to get back on solid ground (as were Dave and I) and they had plenty of fresh snapper for their dinner this evening. So far this week the weather has not been nice to us but the weathermen tell us tomorrow and the next 8 to 10 days are going to be much much better. Looking forward to it!!
