We have seen some strips of green water (the mahi don't like the green water) over the last week or so that start around 250 ft and end around 450 ft where the water turns to that deep ocean blue color. Today the green started about the same depth but it did not turn blue until some boats were 20 miles out.
We were fortunate in that I went to the east and stayed out of the green for most of the morning catching a fish here and there and starting to put our catch together. Once we got out to 17 miles or so we found a few bird sets, a few schools of fish, one cargo net catching over 20 mahi by the time it was to go home.
