Tried a number of thing this morning but nothing worked very well. There was no current on the reef for the yellowtails, the bottom bouncing only produced an undersized mutton and there were no bites at the first couple spots we tried deep dropping but last spot was magic.
Caught 3 vermillons on the first drop, dropped one on the way up and caught one on the second drop, caught a margate on the third drop and we were just getting started.
Dr Mike had been watching the dark skies and after the third drop he suggested we head in as the lightening and rain were getting a little too close for comfort. The rain and wind started before we got back but we got everyone back safe and we had caught enough fish for a few dinners. We get another chance with this group on Thursday ... offshore again.
