A Fumble Recovery
It was a 3/4 day and as we have been catching fish close in, my plan was to stay close to the reef, catch snapper and maybe a sailfish. A bit later while listening to the radio and other offshore boats , I heard that a current edge was only 6 or 7 more miles out from where we were trying to catch fish and the first boats that got there were finding "plenty"of mahi, so off we went.
I followed the line for a couple miles , didn't find anything but when a frigate bird dropped down out of the sky behind us and I went back to see what he was on, up came the mahi. We didn't stop catching them till we had 30 in the box and we caught a 20 pounder and a few others a bit later down the line. A that point we headed back, doing a little sailfishing before heading for home.
