Finally got a nice day with 10 to 15 knots of wind, a huge improvement over the last few days and very much appreciated.
We fished the GAF guys today, we haven't seen them in 2 years because of the pandemic and it was good to get them back out on the boat with us again.
The yellowtails bit well this morning but once they slowed up we went in, got some live bait and tried bouncing the bottom in 200 ft. but conditions were not good for that type of fishing and we headed to the Islamorada hump. Caught a couple legal mahi on the way out and never got to the hump stopping at another deep spot where the big Vermillons were biting well. Caught 13, lost a few to the predators and headed for the barn.
Several of the guys are coming back in July and the rest will be back again next year. Good times!
